For Australia day we drove to Thredbo and walked to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko.
Its nestled in the Snowy Mountains / Great diving range at Kosciuszko National Park. The summit is 2,228 metres above sea level, and it's the highest mountain in Australia. We caught the chair lift up to the first point (its not cheating...its too steep to walk the first section) then walked the 13km return to the summit.
It was THE most beautiful day, sunny, but windy...which kept us cool (although a little sun 'touched' afterwards)
One of the seven summits in the world... next Mount Kilimanjaro?!
